SENSATIONAL SUMMER EVENTS AT THE LANGHAM, HOMG KONG


(Hong Kong, June 2013) The Langham, Hong Kong will be spoiling guests this summer with an array of tempting promotions in Palm Court and Main St. Deli ranging from a chocolate-fuelled afternoon tea and children’s etiquette class to a hot dog championship, children’s parties and Beat the Heat offers that entice families and friends to celebrate the arrival of a sizzling summer.

Chocolate Afternoon Tea with Valrhona
Palm Court is putting the spotlight on all things chocolate with a special promotion running from 1 to 31 July. In addition to enjoying an afternoon tea with loved ones, friends or family, guests can opt for the Chocolate Afternoon Tea featuring world-renowned French chocolate brand Valrhona. Priced at HK$228* for 1 and HK$408* for 2 persons.

Valrhona selects only the finest varieties of cocoa beans with excellent aromatic potential from a dozen countries to produce the Grand Chocolat. Valrhona uses sensorial expertise, a unique tool that embraces the five senses to portray, characterise and control all of the organoleptic properties of its products.

Prince & Princess Afternoon Tea Etiquette
The Langham, Hong Kong has partnered with the Hong Kong Institute of Etiquette this summer to create fun and educational etiquette classes for children to learn how to become a quintessential little lady or gentleman. With the guidance of Kristine Stewart, Director of Hong Kong Institute of Etiquette, the expert-led two-hour interactive session teaches children the social education to make a good first impression, tackle table manners with confidence and respect for others. Highlights include the fundamentals of tea traditions, table manners, how to be a good host and invitation preparation.

Hot Dog Eating Championship
To celebrate American Independence Day, Main St. Deli will launch a Hot Dog Eating Contest on 4 July. Starting at 7:30pm, the ten-minute all-you-can-eat contest welcomes the city’s most competitive eaters to devour as many hotdogs as they can. The top three food fighters will receive prizes valued at HK$1000, HK$750 and HK$500 respectively. Spectators who dine in the restaurant can enjoy 20% discount all day. Ready for challenge? Burgers, burgers, burgers
Famous for New York style delicacies, Main St. Deli lights up the day with a comprehensive selection of superb burgers this summer. Gather your friends and attempt to finish the famous 12-inch, 32 ozs Giant Monster Burger made from prime ground US beef, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, pickles, cheese and mayonnaise – it is not for the faint hearted. The Giant is priced at HK$788* and 24 hours notice is required. Back by popular demand are the Australian Wagyu Beef, French Foie Gras Burger and Canadian Lobster Burger - not to be missed.

Beat the Heat is back! On every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from July to September, four selected 8oz burgers, including the Blue Ribbon Beef Burger, Monster Beef Burger, Barbeque Bacon Burger and Veggie Prairie Burger will be priced according to the temperature (in centigrade) recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory at 11am that day.

Looking for somewhere fun and different for your child’s next birthday party? Head to Main St Deli where kids can take part in a range of interactive cooking classes such as Cupcake Decoration, Dinosaur Pizza Making, Cookie Making and much more. Children will learn cooking techniques which will hopefully inspire them to become mini masterchefs during the three-hour session. After class kids can tuck into Mini Beef Burgers, Pizza Wedges, Chunky Fish Fingers and other delightful treats.

Background of Etiquette Expert
Kristine Stewart is the Director of the Hong Kong Institute of Etiquette. Ms Stewart founded the school in 2009 when she saw the demand for quality etiquette instruction in Hong Kong, and a need for trained and qualified consultants to provide courses.

A graduate of the prestigious Institut Villa Pierrefeu in Geneva, Switzerland’s globally recognized finishing school, Ms Stewart has received etiquette qualifications and certification in Paris and London, and has studied etiquette under internationally recognised etiquette leader, Tamiko Zablith.
