GREEN MONDAY FINDS A HOME AT THE LANGHAM, HONG KONG
(Hong Kong, May 2013 )The Langham, Hong Kong is delighted to partner with local social enterprise “Green Monday” by offering and promoting vegetarian menus, every Monday, in all restaurants of the hotel including Michelin-starred T’ang Court, The Bostonian, Main St. Deli, Palm Court and L’Eclipse.
Green Monday is a project aimed at encouraging healthy and environmentally friendly living in Hong Kong and its pioneer project is to go “meatless on Mondays” as a means to reduce carbon footprint whilst improving one’s health. To support this meaningful event, Executive Chefs Mark Bannon and Kwong Wai Keung have created special Green Monday menus featuring an array of sumptuous vegetarian dishes.
T’ang Court serves up delicacies such as Stewed Bamboo Fungus Rolls filled with Asparagus, Black Truffle and Bean Curd, while at The Bostonian, a specially designed six course menu including Caramelized Onion Tart with Black Olive and Arugula, as well as Truffle Custard with Sweet Pea and Mint Bisque will convince diners that going healthy does not have to be boring. Main St. Deli’s menu features a Green Taster Platter of canapés such as mini veggie burgers and potato pancakes. Not to be missed are the range of fresh, healthy salads and mouth-watering desserts available at Palm Court and L’Eclipse.
“As a sustainability-dedicated hotel, we have implemented various green initiatives over the past few years,” said Environmental Protection Manager Tess Chan of The Langham, Hong Kong. “Partnerships with groups such as Green Monday help enhance our guests’ awareness that having meals without meat for one day will impact positively to the earth and advocates a healthy lifestyle.”
