Dine and Stay in Style to Celebrate the Year of the Goat at
The Langham, Hong Kong

(Hong Kong, January 2015) – Usher in the Year of the Goat at The Langham, Hong Kong with a series of meticulously prepared Chinese New Year offerings at the two Michelin-starred T’ang Court restaurant, the all-day interactive buffet restaurant The Food Gallery, and the new Artesian bar. Two Michelin-Starred T’ang Court

Executive Chef (Chinese) Kwong Wai Keung has artistically created an array of traditional Lunar New Year dishes which all carry auspicious meanings, such as good health, prosperity, wealth and happiness, by using ingredients with character to elevate the overall culinary experience.

One of the featured dishes is the collection of Baked Shrimp with Champagne and Coriander where the hero component is the Champagne which brings forth a fresh and light flavour, as oppose to the classic Chinese cooking wine. The Golden-fried Bean Curd stuffed with Egg and Spinach in Chicken Broth, Bamboo Fungus and topped with Yunnan Ham is perfect for those longing for a healthy vegetarian option.

For dim sum selections, crafted delicacies include Stewed Semi-dried Oyster Filled with Abalone and Shrimp Paste and Steamed Lobster, Scallop, Shrimp and Pork Dumplings, topped with Gold Foil. Some of the most revered and extravagant elements, such as abalone and lobster, were selected to wish good fortune and success.

The New Year menu will only be available during the festival from 19-25 February (dim sum during lunch service only).

T’ang Court is also offering its popular home-made puddings, which are perfect presents for the festive season. Flavours include the New Year Pudding, Turnip Pudding and Taro Pudding, all made with exquisite care and detail.

The Food Gallery

The interactive seafood restaurant called The Food Gallery will kick off the year serving a wide selection of gourmet fare to feast on, ranging from the classic Chinese New Year dish of Braised Young Pig Tongue, Black Moss with Long Cabbage to scrumptious Fried Noodle with Crabmeat and Prawns, in addition to its buffet choices. Ready-to-order Wok-fried Shanghai Rice Cake and Stir-fried Pancake Roll with Shrimp and XO Sauce are available in the live cooking station.

Turn up the heat and savour a variety of sizzling Sichuan pleasures offered for the entire month of February. Recommended dishes include the Geleshan Spicy Chicken, Braised Chicken with Five Spice Powder and Oyster Sauce, Sichuan Pepper with Pig Ear Tattoo and Cabbage, and Poached Sliced Beef in Hot Chili Oil, all showcasing the characteristics of Sichuan spice and flair.

The New Year and Sichuan offers are available in February.

Artesian

In honour of Chinese New Year, Bar Manager Rajendra “Rush” Limbu has crafted the Golden Phoenix, a bourbon based cocktail infused with lemon juice, egg white, bitters, and topped with bird nest and gold foil. This opulent concoction is well-balanced to the palate and promotes well-being as the bird nest is rich in protein and collagen, sitting lavishly on top of a molded ice cup. Not only playing to all the senses by tantalising the taste buds and presenting aesthetic appeal, it pays a golden tribute in colour to Chinese New Year.
