Award-winning hotel is included in Travel + Leisure’s Prestigious “World’s Best Awards” List

Hong Kong (July, 2007) – The Langham Hotel, Hong Kong has received another prestigious accolade from Travel + Leisure magazine, this time by being cited as one of the “Top 50 Hotels in Asia.”

The August issue of Travel + Leisure recognizes the hotel as one of the best in Asia following the publication’s 12th annual “World’s Best Awards Readers’ Survey” that was distributed to magazine subscribers in January, 2007. This is the first time The Langham Hotel has been included in the “Top 50 Hotels in Asia” list, ranking higher than properties such as the InterContinental, Hong Kong; Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong; and Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong.

Inclusion in the prestigious list marks The Langham Hotel’s second recognition from Travel + Leisure this year.  In January, 2007 the hotel was also included in the magazine’s “T+L 500: The World’s Best Hotels” list following the “World’s Best Awards Readers’ Survey” from 2006.

In both accolades, the award-winning Langham – the only member of The Leading Hotels of the World in Hong Kong – was recognized for its European atmosphere, desirable location and innovative menus.

The most recent recognition from Travel + Leisure coincides with the hotel’s announcement of a US$22 million renovation project that will transform all of its 495 guestrooms and offer guests a more luxurious travel experience than ever before.

The renovation by Andy Tait of LRF Design includes a total redesign of room layouts, all new furniture, ornate bathrooms, linens, drapery, artwork and the addition of state-of the-art technology.  The entire project will span three years.  The first phase of the renovations will be completed in October 2007, while the second and third phases will begin in 2008 and 2009 respectively.
